Hyundai Green Energy Signs MOU for Floating Solar Plant with KEPCO KPS

Hyundai Green Energy announced on July 31 that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the state-run power corporation KEPCO KPS to make mutual cooperation for the development of a total of 170 MW floating solar power plants in its public energy plants.
Under the MOU, Hyundai Green Energy plans to supply main solar equipment including floating solar modules and inverters, while KEPCO KPS will take charge of engineering and installation. The signing ceremony was attended by Kang Chul-ho, CEO of Hyundai Green Energy; Kim Bum-nyun, CEO of KEPCO KPS; and other guests.

Hyundai Green Energy expects that on the back of the MOU, the company will secure a stable business model and take further steps for technological development by participating in domestic large floating solar plant projects.

Since 2004, Hyundai Green Energy has provided total solutions for solar energy business ranging from solar cells, modules, inverters, ESS to EPC.

Kang Chul-ho, CEO of Hyundai Green Energy, said, “We strive to help boost the domestic solar energy market by establishing the stable cooperation with KEPCO KPS and solidify our position in the market. We remain committed to R&D to take the leadership in the merging floating solar plant business.”
